I don't think it was banned? Other than some states.

embernoodle-23 OP

brother, who are you? full of yourself

happycactus-77

Abortions should definitely be illegal in almost every jurisdiction. It is the intentional termination of innocent human life and it’s a good thing Roe v. Wade was overturned tbh

Men without uterus shouldn't bother themselves with these issues.

happycactus-77

Just because you can’t have an abortion doesn’t mean you can’t have an opinion on it? Tf kinda logic is that?

happycactus-77

If my neighbor is kicking his puppy in the backyard am I not allowed to be against it if I don’t have a puppy?

@embernoodle-23 Men without uterus shouldn't bother themselves with these issues.
happycactus-77

Get a better argument than that. It doesn’t work anymore, sorry.

But what if the woman was forced to give birth to a child against her will? At the end of the day she's the one who's gonna bear all that pain alone which is almost near to death, so if a woman unwillingly got pregnant and she doesn't want a child yet due to her specific reasons, so shouldn't she get allowed for abortion?

vividbridge-89

What if that girl is a minor + a victim of sexual assault so shouldn't the society give her a chance to re-start her life with abortion?

calmfrost-84

Anything but letting others do what they want

vividbridge-89

Clock it, and let's suppose the woman still gave birth to a child unwillingly; the question is will she be able to tender the child in the best way possible? Will the child be able to get that love from the mother ? Which will directly affect the mental health of the child only. So the conclusion is if u cannot take care of the child then u should even give birth to one, and if still a woman got pregnant at least it won't be too late to reverse the mistake also this helps to control the population of world and that's why abortion is important in certain cases. Period

vividbridge-89

Yea so true, I definitely agree with you gurl

I understand there are situations that make the decision a harder choice to make but my problem with this point is that even if the girl wasn’t a minor nor a victim of SA, you still wouldn’t be against it, right? The vast majority of abortions aren’t related to incidents of SA. So if you think it’s okay regardless of whether she was SA’d or not, or was a minor or not, then why not make an argument from the general case? You can’t bring up these specific conditions and apply that reasoning to justify abortions where the same conditions literally don’t even apply 😭

happycactus-77

So let’s assume the best case scenario: She’s an adult and consented to have s## with her lawfully wedded husband and together they have the finances to love and care for the child when it comes to term. Would it be wrong to have an abortion in this case? I am assuming you will say no, she can still have an abortion if she chooses. In that case, why does literally any of this matter 😭 why even mention r##e and mental health and everything else if this, in your opinion, is not what makes an abortion morally permissible?

happycactus-77

You didn’t understand what I said 😂

happycactus-77

Im saying you guys were talking about like “what if she’s a minor” or “what if she’s SA’d” but you would still be okay with abortions even if literally none of that was the case, right?

happycactus-77

Even if everything was perfect and she still wanted one, you would be okay with it

happycactus-77

So it isn’t her being a minor or her being SA’d that makes abortions permissible

happycactus-77

There it issss

happycactus-77

Just say that then

happycactus-77

You can’t use specific scenarios to justify every scenario

happycactus-77

You can mention it but be honest that the worst case scenario isn’t why you believe abortions are morally permissible

happycactus-77

Because the reply to me was “what if she’s a minor?”

@happycactus-77 Because the reply to me was “what if she’s a minor?”
happycactus-77

And this doesn’t negate the general case

happycactus-77

I was addressing the reply to me

@vividbridge-89 But what if the woman was forced to give birth to a child against her will? At the end of the day s…
happycactus-77

Here

happycactus-77

Yeah and she’s using worst case scenarios to justify every scenario where the same conditions don’t even apply

happycactus-77

Because yall believe abortions are okay regardless of whether the girl is a minor or SA’d or whatever it is

happycactus-77

It’s like saying
“Killing puppies is wrong”
“What if the puppy has a terminal illness? Therefore everyone should be able to kill any puppy they want”

happycactus-77

Using worst case scenario to justify every case where the conditions don’t apply. Do you understand it now?

happycactus-77

Exactly

happycactus-77

Why should a child pay for the crimes of its father?

happycactus-77

Do you understand my point about why exceptional scenarios aren’t justifications for the basic principle of why abortions are okay?

happycactus-77

If you believe abortions are okay regardless, then r##e, inc##t, poverty, mental health, etc can not be the fundamental reason you believe abortions are permissible. So you have to provide some principle that covers the ordinary case

happycactus-77

Personally I don’t believe in abortions from a pro human rights perspective like I believe all humans have a right to life, the most basic and fundamental human right

happycactus-77

You said this earlier I didn’t assume anything

ironlizard-25

Of course it shouldn't. People definitely need it.

happycactus-77

Maybe I misunderstood but this reads like you mean if she wants an abortion she can get it regardless of whether the s## was consensual or she’s a minor or if she’s poor or mentally unstable or whatever it is

ironlizard-25

End the cause, if it's going to be a trouble for the whole life.

@ironlizard-25 End the cause, if it's going to be a trouble for the whole life.
happycactus-77

??

@happycactus-77 ??
ironlizard-25

It's harsh? I don't think

ironlizard-25

Just think logically

happycactus-77

End the cause as in kill the unborn baby?

ironlizard-25

Not emotionally

@happycactus-77 End the cause as in kill the unborn baby?
ironlizard-25

Ya abort

happycactus-77

This some thanos level thinking

happycactus-77

Bro on his marvel supervillain arc rn

@ironlizard-25 Ya abort
happycactus-77

You don’t kill humans because they are inconvenient

ironlizard-25

And logic?
