Hi everyone,
I’m running into an issue with the 256x Bedrock version of Optimum Realism on a high-end PC setup and wanted to check if there's any known workaround.
My Specs & Setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080
RAM: 48 GB DDR5
OS / Game: Windows 11, Minecraft Bedrock Edition (latest version) with BetterRTX patched
The Problem:
I can successfully import and select the 256x resource pack in the main menu / global resources.
However, when loading into a world, the pack fails to load and throws a memory/file size error ("Not enough memory" / resource pack loading failed due to large files).
Because the engine drops the pack during world load, the Raytracing toggle remains greyed out in both world and video settings (since no PBR assets are recognized).
I've tested this with only Optimum Realism installed (no other addons/packs) and have tried clean reinstallations of the pack.
I understand that the Bedrock UWP engine has a strict internal texture buffer cap that uncompressed 256x PBR maps tend to hit during startup, regardless of actual system RAM/VRAM.
Has anyone managed to bypass or raise this UWP memory buffer limitation for 256x packs on Bedrock, or is 128x the hard ceiling imposed by the engine architecture?
Thanks in advance for any insights!
