Feel free to talk about this topic, it's what makes the forums great! Do you feel different about what you get today than 5 years ago? Be honest, but remember opinions are allowed.

The only L PoE gets from me is the loot boxes they did. In their defense if you want things you get a one flat price. PoE doesn't get credit sometimes for not praying on their customers.

magicquartz-63 OP

Yeah live services as much as I literally love playing with friend. Especially in games like DbD. These games get like 5 different forms of give us your money after buying our 40$+ game. XD scummmmmmmy

magicquartz-63 OP

You can dislike Nintendo games. With some exceptions to the rules. They do come out with competent single player experiences even when it's a live service such as splatoon. Again it's easy to be on the rose-colored lenses as it is easy to be on distaste for these styles of games. As from reading most comments here many lean into the world of RPGs.

magicquartz-63 OP

I am looking in a broad way not a "do I find it fun or not"

magicquartz-63 OP

Don't get me wrong, I dislike sandbox games myself. I can appreciate new approaches but I am more of a fan of previous styles. I can't personally say it makes for a bad game. Just I myself prefer less sandbox.

magicquartz-63 OP

Yeah trust me, nothing used to bug me more in old RPG styles than fight a battle and take one step to be forced INTO another battle you can't see it's all random. So no real formula is best. It's why in the video I liked the end point.

magicquartz-63 OP

"Find fun instead of find reasons to stop having fun"

magicquartz-63 OP

It's a bit generalized but I have decided not to play games in here just because "myself only" had issues finding the fun.

magicquartz-63 OP

I didn't feel people were doing anything wrong. I just had issues enjoying it.

magicquartz-63 OP

Asmondgold said it best "As a kid you a stupid, being good at one game is a skillset you enjoy learning when you are a bit stupid like this." of course he explains real life goals and more meaning in your life comes into play.

magicquartz-63 OP

No, I mean games that many enjoy but you lack the capacity to enjoy it. Like animal crossing or splatoon or street fighter etc. It can be weird for people sometimes when someone likes something they didn't like. It can cause a weird "So I must now say it is shit to them. So I refuse to play"

magicquartz-63 OP

I learnt a long time ago Fortnite is fortnite. BR is BR. I can dislike it and not find fun. Just won't take that fun from others.

magicquartz-63 OP

Exactly, sometimes this is hard. Especially when all you hear about is how awesome it is and you want to be heard a little. "Yeah but not for me, I really didn't enjoy insert reasons"

magicquartz-63 OP

Then worst is when you get told you don't enjoy it because you don't understand it or your not smart enough to get it. Some aspects possibly. However, It is still a hard sell to play a games for 5+ hours just to enjoy and grasp all aspects. I also don't enjoy watching YouTube just to enjoy a game. Dark souls is "hard" but you can understand it.

magicquartz-63 OP

I've learnt to get them to ask like if you or (hypothetical) heard me say I disliked PoE. So if they ask "Why did you not like it?" they WANT to hear you out so it's less contentious especially through text.

magicquartz-63 OP

Options is key, I get that money is what products are made for. However, just tell the gamer they can still participate just with some boundaries that wont take them 120+ days of 6 hour game sessions to get one helmet skin.

magicquartz-63 OP

Just give us "options"

magicquartz-63 OP

Yep, and I know this well in DbD. 😆 teasing us with aliens. Also giving us a grindable premium currency that requires us to play scummy to get more EXP to get said characters or skins for free several weeks later.

magicquartz-63 OP

By scummy I really mean just playing a co op game on solo player style hah.

magicquartz-63 OP

That is me when new games come out. No money for them but it's a choice. I choose projects within cimmarian. So I create my own fomo. To avoid having 5 new games on the go just to get nothing done hah.

magicquartz-63 OP

Bro, I'll be your someone special.

magicquartz-63 OP

Do you play Single Player?

magicquartz-63 OP

There is the famous German one.

Staged for Pre-YouTube before money for ads was a thing. It was for attention. Now it is for money. 😛

fairorange-37

i don't like playing solo in online games, not fun and i get scared for potentially being a low-skilled player no matter how much I've played certain game

eagercomet-16

That's valid. I feel like you always expect people to complain about any mistakes you might make and it's stressful. At least that is how I feel . I think the problem might be that a lot of people take the games way too seriously and it doesn't help that most of these games are fps or sports games so they are highly competitive in nature

eagercomet-16

That's fair. You definitely need "compatible" groups otherwise one will inevitably ruin the other's fun. And yeah, it's completely fine to play single player. For me single player is as fun as it used to be. And yeah, I also just care about the fun. Yes, there's games where I want to be good but those are far and few between. As long as I can do weird stuff I'm happy, even more so if it's multiplayer. Causing cause is the purpose of my existence :fishywClap:
