This update allows members to converse in their preferred languages without needing external translators, fostering a more inclusive community. The announcement covers how to use slash commands, best practices for accurate translations, and how to navigate the bot's features to bridge communication gaps across the server.

Translomatic provides real-time message translation within selected Holman channels. It allows members who speak different languages to meet, converse, exchange ideas, and participate in the community without requiring everyone to write fluently in English.

HOW TRANSLATION WORKS

💬 In a channel where Translomatic has been enabled:

  1. Write and send your message normally.
  2. Translomatic detects the message.
  3. The bot translates it into the configured language.
  4. The translation is delivered through a Discord webhook.
  5. Other members may continue the conversation in their preferred language.

You do not need to copy every message into an external translator. The process occurs directly within the approved Discord channel.

Translated messages may resemble ordinary member messages because Translomatic uses webhooks. Check the message’s webhook or bot indicator whenever its source is unclear.

USING COMMANDS

Translomatic uses Discord slash commands.

✍️ Begin with:

/help

This displays the controls currently available in the installed version.

🔍 To find a feature:

  1. Type /.
  2. Select the Translomatic icon.
  3. Review its available commands.
  4. Choose the appropriate language or dictionary option.
  5. Complete the fields Discord displays.
  6. Submit the command.

The bot also includes English dictionary and Urban Dictionary functions. Use its live slash-command menu to locate them, as command names and options may change when the bot is updated.

GOOD TRANSLATION PRACTICE

Automated translation is helpful, but it is not infallible. Humor, slang, idioms, invented terminology, names, and emotionally sensitive language may be translated incorrectly.

🔎 For clearer results:

  • Write complete and reasonably concise sentences.
  • Avoid excessive abbreviations.
  • Preserve important names and titles carefully.
  • Explain uncommon Holman or Emora Chronicles terminology.
  • Ask the original speaker when a translation seems uncertain.
  • Never ridicule someone for imperfect English or mistranslation.

The original message—not the automated translation—should be treated as the authoritative wording.

PRIVACY AND SAFETY

Only use Translomatic in approved public community channels.

❌ Do not submit:

  • Passwords or authentication codes.
  • Legal identification.
  • Addresses or financial information.
  • Private ticket evidence.
  • Confidential moderation discussions.
  • Sensitive personal or medical information.
  • Private messages without the sender’s consent.

Translation requires message text to be processed. Reports, tickets, verification records, Custodian discussions, and other confidential material must remain outside translated channels.

THE LAWS STILL APPLY

Translation does not exempt anyone from Holme’s rules. Members remain responsible for the meaning and effect of what they send, regardless of language.

⚠️ Translomatic may not be used to:

  • Conceal harassment, threats, or prohibited content.
  • Evade moderation through another language.
  • Misrepresent another member’s words.
  • Mock languages, accents, or cultures.
  • Deliberately produce offensive dictionary results.
  • Flood channels with unnecessary translations or commands.

If a translation causes confusion, pause and ask for clarification before assuming harmful intent.

MANY TONGUES MAY SPEAK.
ONE HEARTH SHALL LISTEN.
ALL WHO ENTER SHALL BE HEARD.
