GC Sand Team Talk: Gyarados Replacement

https://pokepast.es/486a918b33330088
Building for tomorrow, this is what i have right now. The team feels good together, aside from Gyarados due to all the Intimidate counterers running around, but I don't know what to swap for it that fits. Tyranitar is the only must-keep mon here, other considerations have been Primarina, Sinistcha, Talonflame, Excadrill, Sneasler, other Rotom forms, Archaludon, and Corviknight.

Help Building a TTar-Centric VGC Team

This is the stolen team am currently using. 2 problems, I have mainly physical attackers and I got walled up arch with stamina. The only want I could kill it was cc and scald with milo turn 1 but I end up taking a lot of damage. Secondly, I somehow prefer megaing ttar more which leaves physical xard in a limbo. Looking for a team around ttar. Maybe similar concept with a zard replacement? Any help?

Gimmicky Ditto VGC Team Help

New VGC player, interested in stall and fun gimmicks. WIP team, more conceptual than anything concrete. Core concept is to copy the opponent's mega with my ditto. I'm planning on focusing my own mega on defense.

Either:
- Scovillain for burns and leech seeds to stall, as well as rage powder to keep ditto safe.
- Sableye for prankster/magic bounce utility (unsure on moves yet so many good options)
- Venusaur for bulk, seeding, sporing, and poison for grass and floette coverage as well as protect for stall.
- Audino, Clefable, and a couple other supportive types were considered and I would love defensive mega suggestions.
(If you cannot tell, I like stall)

Since the main idea is inherently unpredictable (no way to know what mega Ditto is trying to copy) I am kind of in love with the idea of Hisuian Zoroark. The chaos in team planning alone fits with the main idea of my team, and the potentiality of bringing in Zoroark for a setup or super effective hit while they expect a Ditto is too good to pass up (Ditto will have the scarf so I'm thinking sash for Zoroark).

I need someone to reposition, and while Incineroar is the best I am so sick of the red cat and I like the chad dolphin more so I'm running Palafin with...I don't know what item or moves yet, but I think general coverage and power to have a more consistent threat that also allows me to reposition. Often Incineroar just ends up being a fake out into parting shot and only sticks around when hapless opponents leave their grass or ghost types lying around.

Last slot or two are free. I'd like two megas but I don't know which two to bring and I need help logically reasoning out which is better for what situations. I'd like my last slot to be both a threat and a coverage of a critical weakness my primary mega and zoroark or palafin both have a hard time with.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Choosing a Steel Remainder for Doubles VGC

I am making a Pokemon doubles team that doesn’t use weather. And I am having trouble on deciding on a steel type Pokemon

So far my team consist of
1. Mega Delphox
2. Mega Venu
3. Garchomp
4. Farigiraf

For my steel type, my options are Kingambit to counter intimidate and deal with ghost types, Tinkaton for mold breaker fake out and good defensive typing and utility, or Corviknight for another ground immunity to pair with Garchomp and set up body press

Then for my last pokemon it will probably be rotom wash but I am willing to hear other options

Pokémon VGC: How to Find Mega Stones in ZA

I have a delphox already but it’s from a different game, hate how they locked the mega stone behind that. If anyone would be willing to trade a fox for fox, or even just let me get the mega stone and trade it back it would be incredibly helpful!

Rating and Feedback

Hello! This is my second team. This time around I made it with more meta picks in mind compared to the other one and has gotten me far better results.

This team has changed from the original concept, but still keeps the same core of M-Meganium, Aerodactyl and Sneasler. I feel it has pretty decent matchup to everything, but it requires me to make good plays, otherwise it would cost me the game.

I feel the Sinistcha doesn’t fit the team. I was thinking to change her for Incineroar or Oranguru, and here are my reasons:

Incineroar: Gives me Intimidation + Fakeout pressure. It helps against ghost, which I need coverage. And it can help me with repositioning.

Oranguru: Gives me Trick room denial + Knock Off pressure. Disruption with Yawn, Encore, Instruct and Taunt. It also gives weather control and a good matchup against ghost. I could also setup if interested.

But, I would like to hear opinions. Here are my team the after (first two images) and the before (last two images)

Rate and help me improve my team 👋

Hello fellow members, I would like to see you alls opinions about this team I created my self. I had some friends refined it, but I know it’s no perfect.

My idea on creating this team was to have weather, speed control, and map control. I believe the main core of the team is not really there, so even though it could look good on paper, in practice it feels like it falls apart, or it my be my skill issue. Since it also wants to do so many things, it could have the Jack of all trades syndrome.

I’m still discovering what matchups can be bad and good. Also, I’m starting to think Gengar is gendering the performance of the team and that I should play with two Megas or just swap him completely.

But, what you all think 🤔?

Hydrapple Set Ideas for VGC Battles

I have a lovely shiny hydrapple named Fuji I spent hours hunting for and I love him. I want him to enjoy the taste of victory. But I’m having some trouble finding a role/set that feels good for him. What are your guys thoughts on Hydrapple potential?
