Monthly traffic at Beirut Airport (BEY) 2019–2026
Here are some explanations :
: Heavy traffic in April (Easter holidays) and during the summer, thanks to the diaspora and tourism. November was the worst month of the year following the October 17th crisis.
: Airport closed from March to July; difficult recovery following the August explosion. Worst year ever recorded.
: Traffic resumes despite Covid restrictions.
: Hyperinflation and the fuel crisis were making for a difficult recovery following the end of Covid restrictions.
: Highest attendance since 2020. Drop in traffic linked to October 7 and the clashes in the south.
: strikes affecting Beirut, especially from October to November. Only MEA was operating during this period.
: A relatively “calm” year despite drones persisting over Beirut, and the resumption of flights to Beirut by foreign airlines.
(now) : US-Iran conflict impacted traffic which is why the numbers are so low from March (Mea was the only company operating this month) to May.
